Halt, Wet Ink!

What is the Wicked Green Monkey? Surely, that’s the question on everyone’s mind, entirely more important than who killed Tupac and did we actually walk on the moon.

Like most great mysteries, there really isn’t an exact answer. Today the Wicked Green Monkey could be a street performer showing off his fire juggling tricks, and tomorrow he could be a hungover salaryman trying to decide if he drove home last night or if he took an Uber. Choices, decisions, actions, and spontaneity. The Monkey turns like the wheel of time, adapting, evolving, and falling victim to the insanity running through his rampant mind and fingertips.

That’s exactly what this newsletter is – a hivemind of my creativity in comics, writing, and all else that just feels right. Much like our infamous monkey, my comic making paves a similar path – I create what I feel in the moment because 1) my brain can’t seem to rest until that artistic jolt is released and 2) I want to connect with my readers in a real way, whether it’s through a one-page comic, prose story, or just a blurb of inspiration.

I’ll be serializing a whole bunch of comic content, including my book called Roba: Prehistoric Wizard, which I truly love making.

In addition to Roba, I have other unreleased stories that I’m super excited about, as well as previously released comics that I will share and discuss my experiences on the projects (some good, some bad!). I’ll also be sharing tons of process content, sketches, scripts, commentary, all that fun creative stuff. This newsletter will be constantly evolving as I wrangle the platform.

So, what does the Wicked Green Monkey do now? Does he lie awake in bed scrolling through prank videos and cat memes? How about mountain bike down an extreme, South American village course? Honestly, the Monkey probably can’t make a decision any better than you can.

In the meantime, let this newsletter act as small campfires on your journey to Mordor.
